venture capital

Medium and long-term investments in privately-held businesses in their early stage of development combined with managerial support, conducted by specialized entities (venture capital funds). The purpose of venture capital investments is to generate a profit ensuing from the incremental growth in the value of a business by selling its stock after the elapse of a specific period.

VIX

An indicator of volatility of rates on Wall Street expected by investors, based on the valuation of options. The higher its value, the greater the fear in the market and the more opportunities to buy overpriced shares.
